Improve service

Comment on Liu Shinan's column "Hassle over defective cell phone" (China
Daily, August 22)

I agree with Mr Liu's opinion that the mobile companies should improve
their services.

On year after I bought my Philips mobile in late 2005, it could not
receive any signals. I sent it to the Philips repair store, but they
returned it to me a month later, saying I would have to pay 460 yuan if I
wanted my phone repaired.

I am puzzled a well-known brand can produce such products?

Progress toward gays

Comment on Raymond Zhou's column "Principle or prejudice?" (China Daily,
August 18)

There is a Chinese proverb that says Bu pa man; jiu pa zhan. One can
preserve the rhyme by translating it into English as "Don't fear slow
progress; just fear no progress."

Economically, China's progress has been quite rapid. Perhaps there will
be equally rapid progress toward popular acceptance of homosexuality.

Be prepared

Comment on "Chinese abroad to be better protected" (China Daily, August
22)

Recently I have heard much bad news about Chinese being attacked abroad.
People should learn about the customs and crime rate of their destination
countries before visiting.

Related departments also need to provide education and warnings to people
going abroad to prevent tragedies.

I don't think that stopping imports from US will be of any good to China.

The best way for us is to strengthen ourselves and use the WTO rules and
principles to claim our rights.

It is good news for China but not for me. Continuous rising interest
rates have aggravated the burden of my house loan.
